About the Project

An e-docs web app supports the Wacom DTU 1141 interactive pen display for Velcom (A1), a mobile operator.

The key function of this web application is electronic document signing. Customers can read and e-sign the e-docs at a sales point, using an interactive pen display. Then the dealer can send signed documents to the company server for further processing and storage.

Challenge

Following the global trend of transitioning from physical to electronic paperwork, Velcom (A1) made the decision to modernize the process of signing, storing, and processing documents. Velcom (A1) hired the Bamboo Agile team to define, engineer, and implement the optimal e-docs solution.

Solution

The Bamboo Agile team developed a web application with real-time interface synchronisation. We aimed for an integrative design, prioritising Android devices, and therefore used progressive web applications (PWAs).

Besides, we connected the solution with LDAP Web Services and Velcom’s (A1) Oracle database.

To ensure the reliability of the solution, the team implemented thorough testing procedures, including unit testing, API performance testing, and manual testing. Additionally, we set up system monitoring to proactively identify and address any potential issues.

Technologies we used:

Oracle, LDAP, Redis, Node.js, Vue.js

Key Features

  • View, send, and remove signed e-docs
  • Store e-signatures
  • Show e-docs on customers’ devices
  • Read e-docs
  • Sign e-docs
  • View list of users in the system
  • Send and edit users’ e-docs
  • Remove e-docs from the list

Results

Within several months, Velcom (A1) was able to deploy an efficient customized internal e-docs/e-signature system. This allowed speeding up the company’s workflow significantly.
