About
Alexey Shinkarev is an engineering manager with almost 20 years of experience in software development. He started as a backend developer and built his expertise around JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js. Over the years, he worked on products in fintech, healthtech, edtech, and internal R&D.
However, his experience goes beyond software development. Alexey has led cross-functional teams of up to 15 people, including engineers, QA specialists, designers, and business analysts. He has taken projects from early discovery and architecture design through MVP delivery and production release. Among the systems he has worked on are payment platforms, learning management systems, and telehealth applications.
At Bamboo Agile, Alexey helps teams establish development processes and delivery practices. He has also played an important role in growing the company’s engineering organization. To date, he has onboarded a significant portion of Bamboo Agile’s current development team, many of whom have become senior specialists and technical leaders. Alexey frequently shares his expert insights on Agile Redemption, a technology-focused podcast produced by Bamboo Agile.
